interview with a rockstar

We shot an interview at work today with Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips. Its not often we get celebs in front of our cameras.

He was doing an interview with a reporter from The Oklahoman and we were called in to film the interview. As we started brainstorming about what to do for the shoot, we came to the realization that no matter what great idea we had or creative approach we took, there was no way we were going to impress this guy with our creativity.

If you didn't already know, this is the guy who starts out shows by coming out of a spaceship in a giant gerbil ball, he's been working on a film called Christmas on Mars, and my personal favorite, check out this hijacked broadcast from a laser/ballon-sun freakout moment from one of their shows in Europe.

We decided to shoot this project with the idea that 'less is more', sorta... Three cameras, some lights, a good audio kit, a dolly, and a big room.


I'll start editing the project in the morning.
